Community Update from your MPP

One year ago, I stepped into this role for the very first time, humbled, grateful, and determined to serve. Serving as your Member of Provincial Parliament this past year has been the honour of my life.

On the very anniversary of the election, I stood proudly with Peel Regional Police to welcome their largest recruit class in its history: 88 new officers, young, diverse, multilingual, and ready to serve. It was a powerful reminder that the future of our region is strong and deeply committed to public safety.

In February, I was also honoured to join Premier Doug Ford and Solicitor General Michael Kerzner at Queen’s Park for an important roundtable on retail theft. Our message was clear: we are strengthening enforcement, backing police services, and ensuring repeat offenders are held accountable.

I attended the Provincial Human Trafficking Symposium hosted by Peel Regional Police and Victim Services of Peel. Listening to frontline officers, advocates, and survivors underscored the urgency of prevention, education, and coordinated response to protect vulnerable youth.

Ahead of International Women’s Day, I reflected on my own journey from an educator and a business professional to a volunteer and community organizer. These experiences shaped me. They prepared me. They continue to remind me that leadership is service.

February was also a month of celebration, reflection and community. From vibrant Lunar New Year celebrations across Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean communities, to families gathering at our Valentine’s Day Free Skate, the spirit of togetherness was unmistakable.

As Lent and Ramadan began, many in our community entered sacred seasons of prayer, fasting, and generosity. These parallel journeys of faith remind us of the values of humility, service, and compassion that anchor our community.

Year one has strengthened my resolve. I am ready for the work ahead, and forever grateful to serve.

Sincerely,
SG Esignature
